Experiences and Challenges in College

Before I started college, I was excited to be away from home and just get out. When I first moved in, I felt alone, especially since I did before my roommate. I had no one to talk to, and I didn't know anyone yet. It was hard to adjust to being away for long periods. My dad especially misses me. That's one of the challenges I face in adjusting to living alone. Another challenge is just being independent. I knew I could do things myself, but living on my own was something I was always scared of. I forget many more things, and I constantly have to write down the things I forget a million times. I also have no one to talk to. I am close to my mom, and I would always speak to her about everything at home, like the latest gossip in school. I'm more of a face-to-face person, not a texting through a screen person. Things have gotten better, but sometimes I wish I was at home.
