After Tiller Documentary

The scene that got to me was when the husband and wife talked to the nurse. They prayed even because they wanted the baby to make it. The nurse explains that losing their baby is hard to talk about. The nurse explains to be kind to yourself even if you regret having an abortion. This upset me because it is hard for a woman to lose something that could have made a difference in her life. Losing such a tiny human is problematic because it changes your life. Especially when you and your significant other could be trying to have one. However, I also like to think of it as a sign. Maybe a couple could be trying, then they found out they have to have an abortion, and at the same time, it could be a way of the universe telling them it is not their time.

I think it is crazy to think about how people who need to get abortions risk their lives. About 40-50% of women get illegal abortions because they are scared or can't get the help they need. Kids would be injured even if the mother had children. Abused or battered because the mother didn't want them. I also thought it was crazy that Nebraska would pass a law where women could not have an abortion after 20 weeks. When the bill was passed that abortion was illegal, women would try and stick things up inside to do them themselves. It was excruciating.

There is a lot to unpack from this film. However, I still want to know if women are fighting for abortion rights today? I feel uneasy watching this film. It made me realize that women are much more powerful than we think. No matter the cause of what is going on, women still have their voices heard.

The main thing we don't include research in summaries is that we don't want to find something, and that is false. We like to know the facts about things, and if there are specific numbers, charts, etc., we want to see the truth, not false accusations or an estimate.
